Roof & electrical commercial inspections- In 2016, The Citizen’s Actuarial and Underwriting Committee provided two forms requiring updates for older buildings (commercial lines), for buildings in which the roof and/or electrical systems have not been updated or replaced in the last 30 years. These forms (Roof & Electrical) must be filled up by certified contractors.
If, you have a flat roof slope less than a 2:12 pitch, 3‐ply, Tar and Gravel, Modified Bitumen and/or Membrane over 15 years a Commercial Roof Condition Form may be requested by an insurance company.
Hip, gable, mansard or other (Fiberglass/Asphalt Composition, or Wood Shake) roofs over 20 years or Fiberglass Dimensional/Architectural/ Metal roofs over 30 years a Commercial Roof Condition Form may by requested by an insurance company.
Clay, concrete, or slate covering materials over 50 years in some cases a Commercial Roof Condition Form may by requested by an insurance company.
Coverage could be eligible by submitting acceptable documentation to establish the remaining useful life expectancy of the roof covering to function as intended based upon an inspection performed by a certified Florida roofing contractor or General Contractor.
Electrical system documentation will be accepted if an Electrical Contractor or General contractor provides a completed form or equivalent document showing that the electrical system has been updated or had no improper wiring conditions or existing Deficiencies.
